The “Nightmare Mode” mod allows users of Minecraft Bedrock to play in hardcore mode on all other platforms, not just the Java version. If you enjoy challenging trials and creepy sound effects, then this add-on is for you!

Features

If you die, you will no longer be able to respawn, so be sure to make backups if you decide to play in old worlds of Minecraft.

  • The respawn button will disappear.
  • You won’t be able to respawn even if you re-enter the world.
  • All game mods will be disabled.
  • A hardcore mode will be introduced.

 Mobs:

  • Zombies:
    • Will spawn in hordes of about 4-6 zombies.
    • Will be able to walk freely during the daytime.
  • Skeletons:
    • Will also no longer fear the sun.

Sounds and textures:

  • All existing sounds in the game will be replaced with ambient noise.
  • Some icons will undergo changes.
  • The health bar will change to a hardcore version.
  • The armor, health, and hunger bars will not be displayed as empty.
  • The cursor will disappear.
  • The textures of the half-heart icon will change.

Multiplayer is supported. When one player dies, another player also gets kicked out of the world.

Chat Issues

If you are experiencing spam in the chat, you need to go to the game settings and activate cheats. If you are on a server, Realms maps, or similar, you need to ask for permission from an administrator.

Nightmare Mode Installation (.mcpack)

  • Download the mod labeled – “.mcpack” below.
  • Run the downloaded file, thereby importing the addon/texture into Minecraft.
  • Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and go to the world settings.
  • Install the imported sets for the world:
    – Resource Packs.
    – Add-on Packs.
  • Select the imported resource packs/add-ons in each section.
  • We recommend restarting the Minecraft PE game client after this.
  • Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world Minecraft and enjoy the addon!

How to Install Nightmare Mode (.zip)

  • Download the mod below.
  • Extract two folders from the archive.
  • Move the “Nightmare Mode” folder into the /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/ directory.
  • Move the “Nightmare Mode” folder into the /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/ directory.
  • Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
  • Create a new world or edit an existing one.
  • Apply the selected resource pack and addon to the world, which you previously moved to the resource_packs and behavior_packs directories.
  • Done! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy the game!
