Realistic Mobs
The mod «Realistic Mobs» is designed to fulfill a long-standing desire of many players of Minecraft Pocket Edition, as it alters the sizes of various mobs in MCPE. For instance, spiders have been shrunk to nearly one-tenth of their original size! This change certainly adds a layer of realism to the game. However, it also increases the challenge, as hitting a tiny spider is not as easy as it used to be 😉
Veteran players of Minecraft Pocket Edition are likely aware that the game features mobs that do not exist in the real world. So, what did the mod developers do? For example, how do you handle the iron golem, a creature that has no real-world counterpart? The mod creator decided to scale it down to be more in line with the actual size of a villager.
One of the most noticeable changes in Minecraft PE is the adjustment of both regular and cave spiders. They are now tiny mobs, as you can see in the screenshot below:
Now, prepare to be amazed! 😉 Check out the new silverfish in MCPE and just imagine how to defeat them now? Keep in mind that they are smaller in real life, yet this is still a more realistic representation than before.
Returning to the iron golem we previously mentioned, it is important to note that this creature does not exist in reality. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen one! 🙂 So how can we determine its size? Nevertheless, the developer took a guess and scaled the iron golem to a more realistic size.
Additionally, there is another mob with uncertain dimensions. Once again, no one can definitively say what the real size of the Enderman is! So what’s the solution? The developer opted to simply make it smaller, just like many other mobs in Minecraft Pocket Edition:
Here’s a list of all the mobs that have undergone changes, either being enlarged or reduced in size:
