Ostrich
The mod «Ostrich» introduces an ostrich into Minecraft Bedrock. This large, flightless bird will replace the chicken once the mod is installed. You can ride it, but it won’t be under your control. The ostrich model closely resembles the one showcased during Minecon Earth 2018. We hope to see this bird featured in one of the upcoming official Minecraft updates.
How does it work?
In Minecraft, the chicken will be substituted with the ostrich. This friendly mob has 18 hearts of health and will quickly flee if you attempt to hit it. The ostrich spawns naturally in the warmest biomes.
- Android / iOS: Long press on the ostrich and tap the interaction button to ride it
- Windows 10: Right-click on the ostrich to mount it
You won’t be able to steer the ostrich while riding it. (At least, not in this version of the mod)
Installing Ostrich (.mcpack)
- Download the mod labeled as «.mcpack» below.
- Open the downloaded file to import the addon/texture into MCPE.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition and navigate to the world settings.
- Set the imported:
— Resource Packs.
— Addon Packs. - Select the imported resource packs/addon in each section.
- It is recommended to restart the Minecraft PE client afterward.
- Start Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world MCPE, and enjoy the addon!
