Helper

The mod «Helper» introduces a new helpful mob into the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition. This assistant can be dispatched on small missions to gather resources like wood or food. You can also keep it close during your travels and adventures in the MCPE world, where it will follow you and protect you from hostile mobs.

How does it work?

The helpers are dressed as builders and can only be found in the Nether dimension within Minecraft PE. However, you can use a skeleton spawn egg to quickly obtain one in the Overworld of MCPE. To tame the helper, simply give it some gold ingots.

• iOS / Android: Hold a gold ingot, long press on the helper, and select Tame
• Windows 10: Hold a gold ingot and right-click on the helper to tame it

You can assign six different tasks to your helper by giving it specific items.

• Sword = hunt animals
• Axe = chop trees
• Pickaxe = mine ores
• Hoe = harvest crops
• Shovel = dig
• Fishing rod = fish

In this instance, I asked him to cut down some trees for me. Once you do that, he will run off and disappear for about 1-5 minutes. Do not follow him!

After 1-5 minutes, he will return, and you can ask him to hand over the collected items from Minecraft PE.

The items will be dropped on the ground at his location. Make sure to collect them!

Your helper will also be beneficial if you wish to attack other mobs in Minecraft Pocket Edition, as he provides combat support. He will defend you against any hostile mobs that may attack.

The helper will automatically start following you as soon as he is tamed. If you find him bothersome, you can leash him and tie him to a fence post.

This might not be the most ethical way to treat him, but considering there isn’t an advanced AI with feelings in the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition, it’s quite acceptable!

You can also command them to sit or stand, functioning similarly to wolves.

Installing Helper (.mcpack)

• Download the mod labeled — «.mcpack» below.
• Open the downloaded file to import the addon/resource pack into MCPE.
• Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition and navigate to world settings.
• Apply the imported packs to your world:
  — Resource Packs.
  — Addons.
• Select the imported resource/addon packs in each section.
• It’s recommended to restart the Minecraft PE client afterward.
• Start Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world MCPE, and enjoy the addon!

Installing Helper (.zip)

• Download the mod below.
• Extract two folders from the archive.
• Move the folder named Helper Behavior Pack to /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/
• Move the folder named Helper Resource Pack to /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/
• Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
• Create a new world or edit an existing one.
• Set the selected world to use the resource pack and addon that you moved earlier to the resource_packs and behavior_packs folders.
• Done! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy playing!
