Hand Held Torches
The mod “Hand Held Torches” introduces torches that you can hold in your hands to Minecraft. Lighting up caves and other large areas has never been easier! Simply grab a torch and set off on your adventure. Additionally, if you throw the lit item, it will continue to illuminate the surroundings. However, keep in mind that you only have 30 seconds before the item extinguishes.
Check out this video showcasing how the mod works: This mod is one of those essential and useful additions. No longer do you need to place torches all around just to see anything. You can drink night vision potions, and all light except for what the torch emits will be altered.
A real torch without night vision
This version of the mod introduces a subtle dim light effect when you hold a torch. The animation produces a highly realistic appearance, making the transition between light and darkness almost imperceptible in this mode.
Night Vision Version
The player gains night vision when holding the item. This feature is perfect for exploring caves and adds a fun element to Minecraft.
Installing Hand Held Torches (.mcpack)
- Download the mod labeled with “.mcpack” below.
- Open the downloaded file to import the add-on/texture into Minecraft.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition and navigate to world settings.
- For your world, enable the imported:
— Add-on Packs. - Select the imported resource packs/add-ons in each section.
- It’s recommended to restart the game client of Minecraft PE afterward.
- Start Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world Minecraft, and enjoy the add-on!
Installation of Hand Held Torches (.zip)
- Download the mod from the link below.
- Extract the folder named “Hand Held Torches” from the archive.
- Move the “Hand Held Torches” folder to the /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/ directory.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
- Create a new world or modify an existing one.
- Apply the addon that you previously placed in the behavior_packs folder to your selected world.
- All set! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy your game!
