Giant Snow Gorilla
Replace one of the mobs in the world of Minecraft Pocket Edition with a massive gorilla that you can ride after installing the mod titled Giant Snow Gorilla. This is undoubtedly one of the fastest creatures, making it perfect for players who want to move quickly in MCPE. Currently, there are some bugs, such as the gorilla not moving unless you’re riding it, but this will be addressed in future updates.
How does it work?
The snow gorillas spawn in villages within Minecraft PE (as they replace iron golems), but they can also be spawned by constructing an iron structure using four iron blocks and one pumpkin.
For some reason, the gorilla remains stationary unless you are riding it. Clearly, this is a bug that will be fixed in an upcoming update.
- iOS / Android: Long press on the gorilla and select Sit and Ride
- Windows 10: Right-click on the gorilla
Make sure to hold a snowball in your hand to steer the gorilla while riding it in MCPE. This creature is incredibly fast, which can make it challenging to control in tight spaces like jungles in Minecraft PE. It’s better suited for open fields.

Installing Giant Snow Gorilla (.mcpack)
- Download the mod labeled “.mcpack” below.
- Open the downloaded file to import the add-on/resource pack into MCPE.
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition and navigate to world settings.
- Set the imported resources for the world:
— Resource Packs.
— Add-ons. - Select the imported resource/add-on packs in each section.
- It is recommended to restart the game client Minecraft PE afterward.
- Start Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world MCPE, and enjoy the add-on!
Installing Giant Snow Gorilla (.zip)
- Download the mod below.
- Extract two folders from the archive.
- Move the folder giant-snow-gorilla-bp to /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/
- Move the folder giant-snow-gorilla to /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/
- Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
- Create a new world or edit an existing one.
- Assign the selected world the resource pack and add-on that you moved earlier to the resource_packs and behavior_packs folders.
- Done! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy playing!
