Now the Nether realm in Minecraft Pocket Edition will be referred to as the Deep Sea. With the help of the mod titled Deep Sea, everything, including mobs and textures, has been revamped to give the impression of being underwater. This may be in anticipation of the upcoming “Aquatic World” update that will soon be released for Minecraft PE. Immerse yourself among turtles and other marine creatures in a completely new experience beneath the surface.

How to Access the Deep Sea?

You can enter the Deep Sea by stepping through the Deep Sea portal. This is essentially a standard Nether portal in MCPE. To create it, you will need several blocks of obsidian, flint, and steel to construct the portal.

You will encounter many new creatures in this entirely new sea. A complete list of new mobs for Minecraft Pocket Edition can be found further down this page. The creature shown below is a sea person.

And yes, of course, there are turtles here!

Installing Deep Sea (.mcpack)

  • Download the mod labeled as .mcpack below.
  • Run the downloaded file to import the addon/texture into MCPE.
  • Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and navigate to world settings.
  • Set the imported options for the world:
    — Resource Packs.
    — Addons.
  • Select the imported resource/addon packs in each section.
  • It is recommended to restart the game client Minecraft PE afterward.
  • Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition, enter the previously configured world MCPE, and enjoy the addon!

Installing Deep Sea (.zip)

  • Download the mod below.
  • Extract the two folders from the archive.
  • Move the folder DeepSeaBeh to the /games/com.mojang/behavior_packs/ folder.
  • Move the folder DeepSeaRes to the /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/ folder.
  • Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition.
  • Create a new world or edit an existing one.
  • Set the selected world to use the resource pack and addon that you previously moved to the resource_packs and behavior_packs folders.
  • All set! Restart Minecraft PE and enjoy your game!
