The Coder Map

The map “The Coder” is a collection of commands that introduce various items. If you haven’t yet explored using codes in Minecraft, this map offers plenty of useful features. It will teach you the fundamentals of coding and demonstrate how to bring your ideas to life through code. Looking for a weapon stand, maze, or mine? There are no limits here—everything depends solely on your imagination!

If you’re playing Minecraft at code.org, you’ll need to move your character into position and break blocks just as you would in the vanilla version. Five commands are available: forward, right, left, backward, and break.

• The forward command is represented by green wool, which moves the non-player character 1 block ahead.
• The right command uses orange wool.
• The left command is indicated by purple wool.
• The backward command is shown with red wool.
• Lastly, the brown command breaks the block in front of it.

With the lessons from this map, you can create your own. Redstone, pistons, and codes are all you need!

Installing The Coder Map (.mcworld)

• Download the map labeled as “.mcworld” below.
• Open the downloaded file to import the map into Minecraft.
• Launch Minecraft Pocket Edition and select the imported world.
