Minecraft PE 26.40.05 [Full Release]

Minecraft PE 26.40.05 is the full Android 26.40 client from August 4, 2026. Boats and minecarts ship in vanilla. Dappled forest, abandoned camps, cushions and straw beds stay behind the Drop 3 of 2026 experiment until 26.50. The channel is Full Release, not Beta. Store metadata may show 1.26.40.5; that string belongs here, not in the title. Wilderness Bound is the name of the later drop. On this page the set is still a toggle, not a biome in every world.

Drop 3 toggle, achievements and old chunks

The switch is “Drop 3 of 2026.” Turn it on when you create a world or when you copy an existing save. Already generated chunks do not rewrite themselves: an old forest will not become dappled on its own. Achievements go dark in that world. You cannot flip the experiment off later, so copy the save first. The 26.40.05 client will not migrate a world on its own: the toggle is either on at start or it is not. Cold-forest biome, poplar set, camp loot

Dappled Forest sits near cold biomes: poplar with red, orange and yellow leaves, fallen trunks, red shrubs, shelf mushrooms, leaf litter, the odd spruce. A wandering trader can sell the sapling. The wood set is complete, the door has its own face, the tone is pale grey-brown. The shrub composts; bone meal on a neighbor grows another. Shelf mushrooms come in two sizes: meal grows the small one, the large drops two items, goes in stew and has a little bounce. Wool slabs in this set are seat material, not a catalog of their own.

Camps are not “most forests.” Notes list meadows, cherry, forest, taiga, swamp, savanna, sparse jungle, wooded badlands, pale garden, the dappled forest itself and a further run of wooded and cold biomes. The site has chests, barrels, wool stairs and straw beds. Cold starts are easier from seeds and maps.

Cushion recipe, straw bed rules, boats outside the experiment

Cushions come in 16 colors. Craft is 3 matching wool slabs, not six. They sit on a flat face, do not slide, break without support, have no collision and can overlap other objects except a second cushion. A straw bed skips the night without moving spawn, breaks after one use and is banned in the Nether and the End. Three hay bales craft four beds. Packs for the forest and wool sit under Add-Ons.

Outside the toggle, boats in this full client break in fewer hits, matching Java. Windows cloud world storage shipped with 26.40. One known hitch of the same build: a downward arrow can lodge in the shooter’s hitbox — that line is 26.44, not a reason to expect the new biome in every old chunk.
