Another week, another Preview. Minecraft 1.26.10.25 lands on Android with seven targeted tweaks and 31 bug fixes that mostly babysit the baby mobs. Highlights: Zombie baby heads no longer look like balloons, the “Describe” function finally gets an honest name (“Identify Block”), and Name Tags become semi-rare trade goods instead of librarian handouts. 61 technical changes under the hood for add-on makers. Backup your worlds—this is still experimental.

The Seven Changes That Matter

  1. Baby Mob Head Rescaling: Zombie, Drowned, and Husk babies finally got proportional skulls. Previously their heads were massive collision boxes that clipped through doors; now they match Java Edition aesthetics and actually fit through 1-block gaps without visual popping.
  2. “Identify Block” Rename: The vague “Describe” function is now clearly labeled “Identify Block” in the UI. New players stop wondering why their controller button “describes” stone instead of mining it. Pure UX sanity.
  3. Vibrant Visuals Light Shading: Particles in the Vibrant Visuals experimental toggle now receive proper light occlusion. Torch-lit caves show volumetric dust motes; sunlight beams actually darken when entering shadows instead of glowing like radioactive pollen.
  4. Name Tag Economy Overhaul: Major shift in acquisition:
    • Removed: Librarian villager trades (no more infinite tag farms)
    • New source: Wandering Trader sells single Name Tags for 1 Emerald—limited stock, rng-based appearance
    • Removed from loot: Ancient Cities and Woodland Mansions chests no longer hold free tags

Impact: Naming your pets just got expensive. Early-game mob preservation requires either emerald mining or luck with the wandering hat.

  5. Unified Inventory Search: Survival and Creative modes now share the same search algorithm. Filters like “@fire” correctly display Fire Charge, Campfire, and Firework Rocket in both modes without inconsistent omissions. Quality-of-life for Redstone engineers who swap gamemodes frequently.

31 Bug Fixes — Hitboxes, Skins & Spawners

Category Fix Details
Cosmetics Classic skins no longer render as invisible/empty textures. Legacy Steve/Alex presets display correctly on first login.
Crafting Logic Andesite, Diorite, and Granite can no longer be stonecut into Cobblestone blocks—preventing accidental material waste and recipe confusion.
Marketplace Fixed loading of add-ons from the in-game Marketplace when an active Realms subscription exists. No more “Content owned but not downloadable” errors.
Trial Chambers Trial Spawners no longer overspawn mobs during lag spikes. Entity count caps are now enforced server-side to prevent client crashes in multiplayer.
Entities Baby Glow Squids now emit actual light levels (3 luminance) instead of being decorative dark blobs.
Armor Armor Trim patterns are now visible on all custom skins—previously clipped or invisible on certain geometry templates.
Textures Patched the missing texture hole on Sniffer’s snout—no more purple-black checkerboard during digging animations.
Copper Golem Copper Golems now correctly pick up Thrown Tridents, regular Spears, and Crossbows from the ground—full weapon janitor duty restored.
Rabbit AI Rabbits no longer teleport-hop when damaged mid-air; they follow proper velocity arcs and flee directions. Also fixed: rabbits jumping through each other during breeding—no more quantum rabbit entanglement.
Camel Animation Baby Camels play accelerated flee animations when hurt—matching their smaller stride length instead of using adult slow-motion.
Vehicle Mounting Mobs sit properly in Boats and on rideable mounts—no more floating half-a-block above the seat or clipping through hulls.
Zombie Villagers Fixed texture mirroring on adult and baby Zombie Villagers—clothing patterns now render correctly on left/right limbs.
Panda Physics Baby Pandas no longer hover in mid-air while panicking—they actually touch ground blocks during flee AI.
Squid Growth Squids and Glow Squids now mature into proper adult hitboxes; baby variants no longer stay miniature forever in unloaded chunks.
Accessibility Subtitle captions properly describe the new directional cat purrs and baby camel steps.
UI Additional scaling fixes for narrow aspect ratios (19:9 foldables)—button padding adjusted.

Technical API Updates

61 changes for creators:

  • minecraft:entity_dimensions component updated for baby mobs—head scale modifiers separated from body scale
  • Trade table JSON schema changed: name_tag removed from librarian profession loot table, added to wandering_trader with "max_uses": 1
  • Particle renderer in Vibrant Visuals now queries minecraft:light_level for voxel-based occlusion
  • Marketplace entitlement cache TTL reduced to prevent subscription sync lag

BETA WARNING: 1.26.10.25 is a Preview build. The Name Tag economy changes are experimental—Mojang may revert pricing if feedback is brutal. Copper Golem weapon collection is still flaky in multiplayer. Save your worlds before installing; spawner fixes affect Trial Chamber chunk generation.
