Traditionally, updates in Minecraft Pocket Edition start with minor fixes and progress to more significant and intriguing changes:
- Game sounds have been adjusted; some are now quieter while others are louder (for instance, rain is quieter now).

- You can now toggle the recipe book using the classic interface in Minecraft 1.2.0.25.
- Chunk generation has been optimized.
- Redstone components can now be placed on obsidian blocks.

- Fixed a crash in Minecraft PE 1.2.0.25 when loading worlds with non-Latin characters in their names.
- Numerous issues related to the recipe book have been resolved (scrolling, auto-scrolling, crashes, etc.).
- The scrolling bar in the “How to Play” menu has been fixed.
- In the new version 1.2.0.25, clouds will be visible through glass!
- Spiders can now attack players from under ceilings.
- Pressing the X button will now clear the hotbar.
- Language headers in the settings are visible again.

- The map has been fixed.
- Players and animals will no longer take damage when using a saddle.
- Correction from the previous version: all recipes will now be displayed in the recipe book search, not just the available ones.
- The /xp and /fill commands have been fixed.
