Minecraft PE 1.26.30.29 is the Bedrock Beta/Preview 26.30.29 test build from May 19, 2026, the fifth preview in the Chaos Cubed (26.30) drop line. Android and ChromeOS got Beta, others Preview. iOS and iPadOS received the same wave on May 17 as Preview 26.30.30 — different numbers, same content. The stable 26.30 release shipped on June 16, 2026, so 1.26.30.29 is a final polish pass, not the debut of sulfur caves. It tightens grass tint and lake density in sulfur caves, removes piston movement from potent sulfur, and rewrites magma sulfur cube combat rules: Fire Resistance now works, and netherite armor no longer degrades from its damage.
Who should install
Survival in sulfur caves — if you want corrected mob spawning, proper grass tint, and fully decorated surface exits.
Farms and redstone with cubes — if you built mechanisms around the sulfur cube and need to check item pickup and TNT ignition changes.
Realms and hardcore — if you’re waiting for hardcore hearts and slot frames in the Realms hub.
Caves and blocks
Sulfur caves in 1.26.30.29 get their own grass tint and more sulfur lakes. Glowing lichen density drops to match regular caves. Surface exits now spawn a full set of features instead of bare stone. Mob spawning is reworked: creepers, skeletons, and zombies appear less often and only in pairs; witches spawn less frequently; sulfur cubes spawn in packs of 2–4; cave spiders replace regular spiders in the biome. Sulfur and cinnabar textures are closer to Java. Chiseled variants can no longer be cut from polished sulfur or cinnabar bricks with a stonecutter. Sulfur spikes now grow over time.
Potent sulfur
Geyser eruption and particle height are increased, and particles clip through blocks less. Poisonous gas darkens based on light level. The key redstone change: potent sulfur blocks no longer move with pistons — older flying-geyser designs break in this build. Dead natural geysers are fixed, and continuous eruptions now have their own sound.
Sulfur cube
The magma sulfur cube picks up only one item at a time and no longer floats in mid-air after a block that should sink. It no longer pushes player transport. With an absorbed block, it gains poison immunity. TNT cubes ignite from magma or from a cube carrying magma. Shields do not block magma cube damage, but Fire Resistance does, and netherite armor no longer takes durability loss from it — unlike earlier builds. A death message for the magma sulfur cube is added, along with a landing sound after jumps. The cube respawns in tight 1×1 spaces again, and server lag from cube packs is reduced.
Client and Realms
The build adds hardcore hearts and slot frames in the Realms hub and new Marketplace cards. Client fixes include TNT smoke, invite acceptance during world load, Vibrant Visuals shadows on PS4, and a Windows crash on resize. Addon authors will find Scripting API and component patches in the release notes.
Beta risks
Back up your world before installing. Older addons tuned to sulfur cube behavior or cave generation may break from spawn and physics changes. On Android, check mod and
texture-pack compatibility — the new sulfur and cinnabar textures can conflict with custom resources.
